Arian Leka was born in Durrës in 1966. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology, the Department for Albanian language and literature, and he completed additional studies of contemporary literature in Florence. He writes poetry, prose, essays, children’s literature. He also translates, mainly from Italian. He is the founder of the international poetry festival Poeteka, which takes place every April in Durrës, as well as editor-in-chief of the journal for poetry and culture Poeteka, which is published quarterly in Tirana. His work has been translated into English, German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Croatian, Romanian, Macedonian and Serbian.
