Peter Dentchev was born on August 8th, 1986 in Varna, Bulgaria. In 2010 he completed his Bachelor Degree in Theatre Directing in the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts “Krastio Sarafov”. Dentchev’s first literary appearance was the short story “Malakoff, I Want to Grow Old”, which won Altera magazine’s contest Ecstasy in 2006. It was also later published in English in the American magazine “The Litter Box Magazine” (2010). His novel “Just like a Man Kisses a Woman He Loves” won the first place at the contest for Best New Bulgarian Novels “Razvitie” in 2007. Peter Dentchev has published in various Bulgarian magazines: Capital LIGHT, Altera, Vagabond, Prostori,etc. His new book “Stories of the Past” is coming out, published by “Janet 45”. Dentchev is also a director of the following theatre performances: “The Death and the Devil” by Frank Wedekind (National Youth Theatre “Nikolay Binev”, Sofia), “Squabbles” by Catherine Naze and “The Maids” by Jean Genet (Drama Theatre, National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts, Sofia). He is currently enrolled in the Theatre Studies Master programme in The National Academy.
