Thijs de Boer (1981) is a Dutch writer, born in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Originally an architecture student, he published in several Dutch literary magazines and has performed at many prominent literary festivals in the Netherlands and Belgium. His first book, a short story collection, called ‘Vogels die vlees eten’ (Birds that eat meat) came out in April 2010. The critiques were full of praise in both Dutch and Belgian media and called it ‘one of the great literary surprises of the year’.
