Veronica D. Niculescu (1968), Romanian writer. For her first book of short prose, “Adeb” (Adeb is the name of a cat), published in 2004, she received the Romanian Writers’ Union prize for debut. Then she wrote “Orchestra portocalie” (“The Orange Orchestra”), also a collection of short stories, published in 2008. The third book, published in 2009, is a fairy tale written together with the Romanian poet Emil Brumaru: “Basmul Prinţesei Repede-Repede” („The Fairy Tale of Princess Hurry-Hurry”). Her most recent book is a novel, waiting to be published.
In 2010 she won the HBO National Screenplay Competition with the short screenplay “Curierul” (“The Courier”).
She translated from english several books of Vladimir Nabokov and Samuel Beckett, published at Polirom Publishing House.
Living in Sibiu, she is working as a journalist for “Cultural Supplement” magazine.
