Lihtenštajnski književnik Danijel Batliner je rođen 1988. godine u Vaduzu, a odrastao je u Ešenu. Član je PEN-kluba i IG Wort. Studirao je filozofiju i političke nauke na Univerzitetu u Lucernu. Napisao je nekoliko uspešnih predstava (“Wodka Nicotschow”, “Einmal Oberland, bitte!”, “Schwarze Farbe auf Leinwand”) koje su igrane u Lihtenštajnu i Švajcarskoj. Često je i sam bio na pozornici kao komičar, moderator ili glumac. Uz svoj pozorišni rad, Danijel Batliner je jedan od organizatora “Literatursalon”, platforme za pisce iz i oko Lihtenštajna, od 2011.godine. Međunarodno je priznat kada je njegova kratka priča “Monolog nezadovoljnika” objavljena u američkoj antologiji “Najbolja evropska literatura”. Novembra 2012. godine, bio je nagrađen “Prix Kujulie”, nagradom za mlade umetnike u Lihtenštajnu. U novembru 2013. održao je književno veče u uvaženom Gete institutu u Vašingtonu. Jula 2014. godine učestvovao je na festivalu Kikinda Short u Srbiji i na Interplay Festivalu za mlade scenariste u Austriji. Januara 2015. godine je proveo mesec dana u rezidencijalnom programu za pisce u Litvaniji.Daniel-BatlinerLiechtenstein-born writer Daniel Batliner was born on June 23, 1988, in Vaduz and grew up in Eschen. Besides his independent work he also writes for magazines, companies, governments and theatres. He is member of the writer’s associations PEN Liechtenstein and IG Wort. He studied Philosophy and Political Science at the University of Lucerne and European Integration at the University of Groningen. He wrote several plays („Wodka Nicotschow” (2012), „Einmal Oberland, bitte!” (2012), „Schwarze Farbe auf Leinwand” (2013)). On many occasions he was on stage himself as a comedian, moderator or actor. In addition to his writing work, Daniel Batliner was co-organizer of the Literatursalon, a platform for writers, between 2011-2014. He received international recognition when his short story, A Malcontent’s Monologue, was published in the American anthology “Best European Fiction 2013″. In November 2012, he was awarded with the „Prix Kujulie”, a prize for young artists in Liechtenstein. In November 2013 he was invited to do a public reading of his work at the highly-esteemed Goethe-Institut in Washington. In July 2014, he participated at the Kikinda Short in Serbia and at the Interplay Festival for young Playwrights in Austria. In January 2015, he spent a month as an Artist-in-Resident in Latvia.
